FREE BOAT: 1954 CHRIS CRAFT 32' CRUISER

This 1954 Chris Craft 32' cabin cruiser named SUZIE Q was last hauled out of the water in Washington state in 2014.  According to a 2017 communication from her prior owner: "This was my 'dream boat'. I bought it several years ago to take grandkids out on the Sound and around the Seattle bay area.  It is a great boat to drive and to travel around in.  I put a grill on the back deck, and we had fun with her.  I am now 83 and a few years ago had to move back to the Midwest where my family was.  I have been in hope of returning and using her, but that is no longer possible.  Would like to give this nice boat to someone who can enjoy her.  The boat was in good condition when it was hauled out.  I am sure that she will need some repair after sitting, but she will be well worth the effort."

SUZIE Q was impounded by the Port of Everett where she had been deemed abandoned and subsequently put up for auction in late October 2017.  There were no bidders for the Chris Craft cruiser at auction, and ownership of the vessel reverted to the Port of Everett.

Beth at the Port has graciously given Bone Yard Boats another shot at finding SUZIE Q a new home.  Given that she was not acquired at auction, demolition of the boat is a very real possibility if there are no takers soon, and no one involved wants to see that happen.

The boat itself is being offered FREE TO A GOOD HOME; however, there is still an outstanding storage balance to be settled.  Beth at the POE will be working with the boat's prior owner on the outstanding yard fees, so hopefully the only cost to a new owner of this 1954 Chris Craft 32' cruiser would be the one-way Travelift charge (~$165) to load her onto a transport truck.

Contact Beth at the Port of Everett Monday through Friday at beths@portofeverett.com or 425-388-0671.  Everett, WA.

BYB believes the two scanned print photos below in this column are from 2014 when the boat was last taken out of the water.  The other five photos appear to have been taken in June 2017.

A MESSAGE FROM BONE YARD BOATS:  I announced last May that after a 21-year run the Fall 2017 issue of Bone Yard Boats would be the last.  I am not giving up on the mission.  While I will stop publishing the newsletter with Fall 2017 that mailed in November, for the foreseeable future I will continue to operate the Bone Yard Boats website and employ the Bone Yard Boats good name to continue "Saving Old Boats", although on a somewhat smaller scale than in the past.

The listing for this 1954 Chris Craft 32' cruiser is the first example of that continued effort.

As of right now (01/02/18), parts of the BYB website are still accessible only by past newsletter subscribers with active BYB online accounts.  Over time, I will be making more of the website publicly accessible.  I will not be activating online accounts or taking new or renewed subscriptions.

I hope you'll keep an eye on the BYB website as things evolve.

BYB Shirts: Sales of BYB tee shirts and long sleeves will help support the ongoing effort to keep these great old boats afloat.  Not to mention the fact that you'll look spectacular wearing one!  Right now, I have plenty of Large and XL Grey tee shirts and plenty of Large, XL, and 2XL Blue Jean blue long sleeves.
